2. Go for an Autumnal Walk

3. Get Pumpkin-ing!
Nothing says ‘autumn is here’ more than a big fat orange pumpkin and there isn’t anything much more autumnal than taking a trip to a local pumpkin patch to choose the perfect one!
After picking your pumpkin, you’ve then got to decide how to display it! Will you carve something spooky? Fill it with candles? Or perhaps paint it from top to bottom and cover it in glitter – whatever it is, just have fun with it!
4. Do Some Autumnal Cooking
Delicious food can be a great way to get into the autumnal spirit! There are so many dishes that we can make now that the nights are drawing in and the air starts to chill. Warming, spice-filled dishes that wouldn’t have been the same had we made them during the heat of the summer!
Head out in your hat and scarf to grab some seasonal local veg and cook up a variety of autumnal soups, hot pots, stews, casseroles and curries! Take a look here for some fabulous autumnal recipes!
5. Get Wrapped Up for Bonfire Night
Remember, remember the 5th of November, gunpowder, treason and…err, fireworks? Get your loved ones together to celebrate Guy Fawkes night and his failure to blow up the Houses of Parliament – where would we be now if that had happened, eh?
Wrap up warm and get out those sparklers! Find a fireworks event near you, huddle in front of the glowing bonfire and demolish a delicious hot dog or two!
6. Get Creative with Autumnal Crafts
There are always opportunities to get those creative juices flowing! To raise your autumnal spirit this year, why not look into creating some seasonal decor for the home?
Autumn is a season for lots of reds, oranges and yellows as well as sweet spicy scents and a woodland aesthetic. This year, you could get into flower arranging with an autumnal bouquet, or create a beautiful fall wreath for your front door. Or perhaps you want to bring autumn inside with a magnificent table decor spread filled with natural pinecones, faux berries and dried leaves?

8. Go All Out for Halloween
Okay, so some of us might not be children anymore. But that doesn’t mean that we can’t celebrate the creeeeepiest holiday of the year in adult-style!
When was the last time you hosted a halloween bash? What about getting dressed up? Mix up some halloween-themed cocktails, cook (or order!) a frightening feast and get the friends over for a night to remember!
If you’re looking for a quieter halloween this year, then why not get settled on the sofa with a takeaway, some sweet treats and a classic halloween film? Scary or nostalgic? You decide!
9. Bring the Smells of Autumn Inside
We don’t know about you, but candles, oil burners, reed diffusers…there are so many ways to scent-up the home with autumnal spirit! Seasonal scents such as cinnamon, apples, pine and amber are great to dot around the house and get you into the autumn mood!
You can buy products like these in a variety of shops, but why not try to make your own? There are lots of tutorials online to help you create your own autumnal candles or wax melts – why not give it a go yourself?
10. Make Homemade S'mores
If you don’t know what s’mores are, then you are missing out BIG TIME! One of our favourite autumnal things here at Boutique Lux, s’mores are created when you place a freshly toasted marshmallow between two pieces of chocolate within two graham crackers/digestive biscuits/rich tea biscuits.
The heat from the marshmallow melts the chocolate beautifully and it is the perfect treat for the season! Toasting marshmallows alone make for amazing snacks, but they are even better covered in chocolate with the added crunch of biscuits!
We hope this list has provided you with a wide variety of ideas to get you into the autumnal spirit this season!
