Top 10 Local Autumn Activities for 2021

Summer has come to a close and we have now fallen head-first into the autumnal season, so why not give you a few local autumn activities for 2021 for you to get stuck into before the chills of winter hit?

This past year has been difficult, there is no question about it, which is why it is so important to make the most out of local events to give money to struggling local businesses and to help cheer us up after a troublesome year.

Go out for some self-care alone, or perhaps a trip with much loved and missed family and friends! Let’s actually experience all autumn has to offer with our local autumn activities for 2021!

For Families with Little Ones

1. Pumpkin Jim's Patch

What better way to kick off our local autumn activities than to head to a pumpkin patch!

Pumpkin Jim’s Patch is based on a working family farm just outside of Saffron Walden, near Cambridge. The pumpkin patch is open every year during October half term during the build-up to Halloween, and during this time, the farm also hosts a variety of children’s activities, a play area as well as food and drink in the Fat Pumpkin Café to keep you going during your search for the perfect squash!

The farm is passionate about supplying local food, and in addition to pumpkin picking, also offers a variety of seasonal veg to choose from as well as beautiful bunches of wildflowers.

2. Cambridge Revolution Top of the Tots

3. Halloween Garden Games


Fancy a Halloween-themed day outside in the great outdoors with the little ones? Then why not take a look at attending the Halloween Garden Games at the Forest of Marston Vale?

The day will offer five different games to play including witchy golf and pumpkin bowling, as well as the opportunity to explore the sensory garden to help Winnie the Witch find her friends! It will be a fantastic day out for children, dogs on leads, and the opportunity to explore the great outdoors this autumn!

7. St Neots Art Group Autumn Exhibition

If you are looking for something with an element of culture this autumn, then visit the St Neots United Reformed Church in St Neots to view the St Neots Art Group’s Autumn Exhibition.

There will be over 100 different artworks on display for sale at affordable prices, a quality raffle in aid of the MS Therapy Centre in Bedford, and a stunning collage to admire, created by the local community.

If you are looking for a day out which packs a bit of heat, mosey on down to the Huntingdon Chilli Festival! The event on the 2nd of October will be Huntingdon’s sixth and will feature chilli connoisseurs and producers showcasing their variety of chilli produce from mild to extra spicy!
